PostDoctoral Researcher

About me...

I began my scientific journey at the University of Vigo, with a background in inorganic chemistry and later a PhD focused on phylogenetics and molecular evolution. During my doctoral training, I specialized in evolutionary bioinformatics, working on topics such as selection analysis (dN/dS), empirical substitution models, and ancestral sequence reconstruction.

Over the years, I've expanded my expertise through collaborations in areas like protein structure evolution and amphibian conservation, applying phylogenetic tools and genome analysis in both theoretical and applied contexts.

My research has been shared at leading conferences such as the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE) and the 10th World Congress of Herpetology, and recognized with awards like the "Most Outstanding Poster" at the CINBIO Annual Meeting (2021).

After completing a Margarita Salas Fellowship at CIBIO (University of Porto), I currently hold a Sara Borrell Fellowship at the Hospital La Paz Research Institute, where I work on pediatric systemic infections using genomic and bioinformatic approaches.
